Rumours of Apple making a tablet-like device have been doing the rounds
for months, as has the speculation that the firm may be looking to enter
the netbook market with its own machine. This week, details of an order
for touch panel components, built by a Taiwan-based manufacturer were
rumoured to be for a new Apple netbook. Although Steve Jobs has
previously said the company wouldn't manufacture lower-end hardware,
maybe we will see Apple's high-end version of the netbook soon?

While Dell is generally more geared towards mass-produced machines for
office and home use, the latest ruggedised model from the company has
been designed with more harsh environments in mind. The Latitude E6400
XFR even comes with ballistics resistance meeting US military standards.

The next beta version of Firefox will become available in just over a
month. Mozilla announced earlier in the week that the browser update
will jump from version 3.1 to 3.5 due to the sheer amount of revisions
made so far. Expect improvements to data privacy controls, enhanced web
layout and rendering.
