Chumby gets a LadyFace makeover Posted: 23 Jan 2009 02:25 AM PST What is Chumby? Well, it’s hard to say what this beanbag shaped Wi-Fi enabled multi-purpose gadget really is because it’s real purpose is up to you really.  Thanks to the vast number of widgets it can host, Chumby can double as a clock, radio,  iPod speaker, digital photo frame, a weather station,  game device, calendar, and more.  There are 400+ widgets on the site that you can download to keep track of your eBay auctions, your Facebook profile, watch YouTube videos, Twitter, Yelp,  and much more. Up until now, Chumby has been sporting a rather sad looking leather cover, but thanks to artist Sara Antoinette Martin, Chumby just got a little  cooler. Engadget spotted the handpainted “Goldfish”  design by Ms Martin, currently selling for $600 on the site. The package comes with small drawings by the artist, Lady Head pins, postcards, charms, and is numbered and signed by the artist. Surely, something the company should consider doing more often, although it would be great if they would keep the price reasonable in this economy. Pink and Blue Jawbone for Valentines Posted: 23 Jan 2009 01:38 AM PST Ladies, I know some of you out there just hate pink gadgets, but those of you who still have a soft spot for pink gizmos might want to know that Jawbone has released the Rambling Rose and Babbling Blue hands-free headsets in time for Valentines Day. I just lost my black Jawbone so I really bummed,  but I just might have to get the pink version which looks like it might make you look less like a Bluetool, and more like hip techie. Both are available now at Jawbone.com for $130 as well as the Apple Store and Best Buy. While I was at CES, the Jawbone guys told me about the New Fit Earbud which allows you wear your Jawbone without the earpiece. This is great news for those of you who wear eyeglasses. They were handing these out free as part of a Beta program, but it looks like that might be over, so keep checking the Jawbone.com website to see how you can get your hands on some of these.
