In last week's newsletter, we talked about the Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. It's one of the main
events of the year for many companies, with products and
prototypes both on display.
For Palm, it was a particularly important year; the once
mighty company - they more or less invented the PDA - hasn't
done so well lately, and much was resting on their rumoured
new handset.
It arrived at CES, and it's been the undisputed star of
the show; called the Palm Pre, it won't be available outside
the US for a while, but we think that once a world version
goes on sale, it will give all the smartphone vendors plenty
to think about.
